My Story
For a long time, I did what a lot of us do — I built a career, checked the boxes, and kept "someday I'll make time for the creative stuff" on permanent hold. Years in the corporate world taught me a lot, but somewhere along the way I stopped making things with my hands. And I missed it more than I realized.
It started small. A craft here. A project there. Then 3D printing entered my life and I was hooked. Then came the jewelry. Then press-on nails. Then minis. Then journals, stationery, and about a dozen other ideas I couldn't stop myself from exploring. What began as one rekindled hobby turned into something I couldn't contain — a full creative world that needed a home.
That's how Marilu Creates was born.
I'm a Texas-based maker who believes that creativity isn't a talent you either have or you don't — it's something you practice, nurture, and sometimes rediscover after life gets in the way. I'm constantly learning new techniques, experimenting with new ideas, and chasing that feeling you get when something you made with your own hands turns out even better than you imagined.
One more thing I have to tell you about, because it genuinely brings me so much joy: miniatures. I have a serious love for all things tiny — I regularly unbox Mini Brands and Miniverse surprise balls, and the thrill of finding a perfect little miniature never gets old. It's the same feeling I chase when I'm making something: that moment of delight when something small and unexpected is just perfect. You'll find my mini obsession has its own home here too, because some passions are too good not to share.
